Follow Scott as he digs into various training scenarios with his own horses.
If you've been following our webinars, you'll have heard me explain the concept of progressions. Progressions are related paths of exercises that we use to train horses in our style of horsemanship. Horse training should be anything but linear. Instead, what we do is closer to chipping away at a block of wood to make a sculpture. We might work on one side, then another part of it, and as the carving emerges, the parts that we need to work on are revealed. We end up with a beautiful carving.
Working with a horse is much the same. As we dig into some facets of their training, our relationship and their athleticism, we begin to see the horse as a unique individual that has specific needs. It's our job as horsepeople to meet those needs.
In this series, we're going to take a look at 4 different horses. Namely, Chip, Ditch, Zeus and Bailey. I'll start working with each one of them, discover what they need and work to provide it as we progress in their training. All our training will be filmed, and you'll have the benefit of step by step explanations and the theory behind everything I'm doing.
This is going to be a big project, but awesome for our members! (and of course, awesome for the horses!)
